Description of What each Level will offer.

 

House Guest:

The cost will cover board and keep. The dog will not leave the premise all exercise will take place in secure runs. Basic training will cover control through doors and at feeding time these exercises will be carried out on or off lead depending on the dog’s ability. We will were health and safety allow socialise the dog with our dogs.

 

House Guest + Walk:

In addition to the above the dog will be given one on lead walk per day, the walk will be about 20 minutes.

 

House Guest Plus:

In addition to the basic package the dog will receive 30 minutes of training per day. This training will include, walking on the lead with out pulling, walk besides the handler off lead, and teaching the dog to recall when called. Some of this training will take place at our training ground in secure training enclosures. Depending on how long the dog is with us we may teach the dog some more advanced exercises as detailed in the plans below.

 

House Guest Plus 1 and Training Plans 1& 2:

Will cover the following exercises

·         Sit

·         Down

·         Wait

·         Stay

·         Walk to Heel

·         Recall to both the front and the side of the handler

·         Control at Gate or Door

·         Appropriate Social Behaviour with other dogs and people

·         Controlled play behaviour

·         Safe Handling by people

·         Training in a variety of environments with and with out Distraction

·         Walk along a road under control

·         Enter and exit a vehicle under control

·         Walk free beside handler

·         Send the dog to bed

·         To stop the dog in an emergency situation with the dog going away or coming towards the handler

·         Training the dog to be left isolated in a relaxed manner

·         Control around both dog and human food

 

We would normally expect dogs to be brought to us but we can collect dogs by prior arrangements, a cost of £1 per mile will be charged to cover time and expenses. Dogs must be collected on completion of the House Guest plus 1 and Training plans 1& 2, so we can carry a 1-2-1 session with the owner to demonstrate what the dog has been taught and to train the owner to continue the training once the dog returns to the home situation.
